IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING PROFESSIONAL INDUSTRIAL TRADE WORKERS UNION HEALTH AND WELFARE FUND (PITWU)

​

A federal judge has found the Fiduciaries of the Professional Industrial Trade Workers Union Health and Welfare Fund (PITWU) liable for certain violations of the federal Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) laws that govern health plans.  See Perez v. Doyle, et. al. N. Dist. NJ (1:05-CV-2264-JHR-MJS). The Court ordered the Fiduciaries to restore funds to the plan for payment of unpaid medical claims.

 

The U.S. District Court has appointed Receivership Management Inc, (RMI) as the Independent Fiduciary for the purpose of distributing the funds to eligible former PITWU Participants with unpaid medical bills.  A link of the Order appointing RMI as the Independent Fiduciary can be found here.

 

No payment will be made to you if the completed form is not returned to RMI.  The completed form must be RECEIVED to RMI by no later than October 31, 2022 in order to receive payment.  Any forms RECEIVED after October 31, 2022 will not be processed and NO payment will be issued.
